San Diego New Years Holiday Weekend DUI Report
According to the California Highway Patrol, the San Diego County traffic accident report over the three-day New Year’s holiday weekend stated that one person was killed and 60 others were arrested for San Diego DUI.
These numbers were according to the California Highway Patrol report starting Friday evening at 6 PM and ending at 11:59 PM on Sunday.
The deaths occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday in La Mesa in which a 53-year-old man was hit by a car while walking across the street. The driver was then arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. It is unknown if he secured a San Diego drunk driving attorney.
According to the CHP officers report from the previous year, officers arrested 101 DUI suspects and 3 people were killed in San Diego.
Throughout the state of California, CHP officers arrested 961 DUI suspects and 25 deaths on the roadways over the holiday weekend. The numbers can be compared to last years where 1388 arrests and 36 deaths occurred.
